As a subsidiary of WestCare Foundation, Inc., a national nonprofit network of behavioral health and human services organizations operating in 17 states, three U.S. Territories, and The Republic of Palau, WestCare’s mission is to empower everyone with whom we come into contact to engage in a process of healing, growth, and change benefitting themselves, their families, coworkers, and communities. WestCare devotes our best collective and individual efforts toward “uplifting the human spirit” by consistently improving, expanding, and strengthening the quality of everything we do.

WestCare came to Illinois in 2006 to provide substance use disorder treatment and cognitive behavioral therapy to inmates at Sheridan Correctional Center, the largest fully dedicated prison treatment and reentry facility in the U.S. Since this time, we have grown to become an experienced provider of human and behavioral services in both correctional and community-based settings.

Presently, West Care Illinois’ prison and jail-based programs are offered to men, women and male youth. Our programs are active in Sheridan CC, Lincoln CC, Women of Dignity and Dual-Diagnosis at Logan CC, Dixon Springs CC, Du Quoin CC, and the SUD Services Program in Illinois Youth Center at Harrisburg.

Our Community-Based programs include a youth Mentoring Program, Recovery Groups, and a Substance Use Disorder Services Program for adults and adolescents. Community programs are located at the WestCare Illinois Community Center in the Chicago Pilsen neighborhood.

All our facilities are SUPR (Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery) licensed, and in 2019 WestCare Illinois received accreditation from The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for its community outpatient program.
